Creative Problem Solving (CPS) helps to overcome the problems in teaching-learning processes. The children who possess the creative ability face the problems with a challenge and they will defeat it. Creative Problem Solving is a key idea generation technique. Therefore, the notion of this study is to analyse the CPSA of the students studying in the first year Higher Secondary at Salem (Tamilnadu). 253 samples were drawn under simple random sampling technique. It consists of 139 male students and 114 female students. Normative Survey method was used. The standardised tool ‘Creative Problem Solving ability Test’ was adopted by the researcher for this study. The results of this study revealed that the male and female higher secondary students and the students from Rural and Urban Locality are differing in their Creative Problem Solving ability. The male students are found to be higher in their problem solving ability than the female students.
